Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Privadeer's browser extensions and web services operated by Deer Rock Studios, Bucharest, Romania, EU.

1. Acceptance

By installing our extension or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. The service

Privadeer provides:

• Browser extensions — free tools that analyze website privacy, block tracking cookies, monitor data breaches, and detect AI scraping
• Data deletion service (paid) — automated submission of GDPR and privacy law removal requests to data brokers on your behalf

3. What we promise

• We will make reasonable efforts to remove your data from data brokers
• We will keep your information secure and encrypted
• We will never sell your data
• We will be transparent about what we can and cannot do

4. What we don't promise

• We cannot guarantee that every data broker will comply with removal requests. Some brokers are slow, uncooperative, or based in jurisdictions with weaker privacy laws.
• We cannot guarantee the extension will detect every tracker on every website. Tracker detection is based on known databases and heuristics.
• We cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We're a small team and things break sometimes.

5. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information when requesting data removal
• Only request removal of your own personal data (not someone else's)
• Don't use the service for illegal purposes
• Don't reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the extension code

6. Accounts and payment

• Free extensions require no account
• Paid services require an account with a valid email
• Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe
• You can cancel anytime; service continues until the end of the billing period
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase, per EU consumer rights

7. Intellectual property

Privadeer, its logo, and all associated materials are property of Deer Rock Studios. The tracker detection databases include data from open-source projects (Disconnect, EasyList) used under their respective licenses.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Privadeer and Deer Rock Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You can stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it. You can delete your paid account at any time from your dashboard. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania and the European Union. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Bucharest, Romania.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or website notice at least 30 days before they take effect.
